Bristol born emcee ThisisDA had a breakthrough year in 2013, which saw his stock rise considerably with a number of releases spanning across the year. Having featured on EARMILK amongst a whole host of other sites during the past year, it seems that DA wanted to start arguably the biggest year of his short career so far, as he gears up to release his album Super Arkane next month.
To whet our appetites for his debut LP, ThisisDA has released a brand new track to get us excited for next months release date, as he's dropped his brand new banger "Trippin". This non-album track is just a glimpse into what we can expect on Super Arkane, with a delicious slice of boom bap influenced hip hop. With a dope guitar sample carrying the track along with deep kicks and crisp snares, DA cuts through with an easy to digest flow, as he talks about 'broken Britain' and a tongue-in-cheek self-analysis of himself so far.
At only two and a bit minutes long, "Trippin" is a short but sweet piece of British hip hop gold, with a more fun vibe about it than previous efforts from the Bristol native, and is the perfect track for new fans to get acquainted with the young, talented emcee, whilst long standing fans get another piece of DA magic to keep them ticking until Super Arkane drops next month. Stream "Trippin" below, and prepare yourselves for Super Arkane, which in my opinion, is going to be one of the best hip hop releases from the British Isles in 2014.
