If you've never seen the music video for Avant's 90's track, "Separated," I would highly recommend it. The video showcases a classic 90's R&B track, unmistakable 90's-style clothing, very passionate acting, and a tumultuous storyline to match. Taking away the tumultuous storyline, and changing the vibe from smooth R&B to house, French producer Kartell has used samples from "Separated" to make his newest, coming to you as the sleek track that is "Turn Over." The track is bright and jive-worthy, but hints of Avant's lyrics give the song just enough soul to get down to. Known for his sophisticated bass lines and called by some as one of the leaders of the French house movement, Kartell has no doubt made a name for himself in the house scene and beyond; he's performed all over the world joining acts like Disclosure and Brodinski on stage. He also owns his own label, Roche Musique which has gems like FKJ, Cherokee, and Karma Kid on its roster."Turn Over" is a sweet little taste of what's to come on Kartell's EP Sapphire, which drops on January 6. We can't wait so see what Kartell will be serving up on the rest of the plate.
