The music of Bon Iver is bound to have touched anyone who's done some growing up within the last ten years or so. The music was dreamy and slow in a way that appealed to those too old to be an emo kid, but too young to be able to keep our lives together. It's a quintessential piece in the soundtrack of our generation, and has had a profound effect on anyone living in this day.

However, as music changes interesting things begin to happen. Our old favorites somehow manage to adapt with us. Sometimes the original is as important as it was back then- how many of us listen to "Billie Jean" and realize that the freshness of the song is still there? Other times, remixes come along that bring on a fresh focus to older tracks and bring back a breath of fresh air. In the case of Bon Iver, The Slow Waves have brought forth an interesting aspect and decided to remix the album in its entirety, with visuals to accompany each track.

Every song on their remix album holds something raw and true to the Bon Iver sound, but twinges it to create a dance-able sound that blends somewhere in the pop/dance/indie crossroads. What results is a piece of art that fans of Holy Ghost! or Cut Copy would enjoy. It holds the emotional connection that BI fans first fell in love with, but draws people into the dancefloor at the same time.

This is a piece of work to notice, and the visuals are rather stunning as well. Plus, free downloads are always a favorite! Download the tracks (paid with a like) here.
