Manchester, England, has always been a city that's revelled in it's rich musical history. Some of the most revered bands in rock n roll history all come from the U.K's unofficial second city, including the likes of The Smiths, Joy Division and Oasis. With the city being fondly looked towards for it's indie based music, it's safe to say that the more hip hop and electronic sounding music bubbling from Manchester has mainly been confined to the underground, and not nearly as publicised as their rock driven counterparts such as recent breakout success story The 1975.

With all this being said however, there is one group who have been causing quite a stir not only in Manchester, but also across the UK, this group is Murkage. So far 2013 has been a year that has seen Murkage elevate themselves from underground kings to the faces of the new UK sound. Having already tore up stages at festivals and shows across the UK and Europe, including the famous Reading and Leeds festivals, the group have gone on to premiere their Imperial Mixtape via ourselves here at EARMILK, and more recently they released "La Plage", the first single for their upcoming debut album.

Today, we have finally been graced with the breathtaking visuals for "La Plage", and it was definitely worth the wait. As the Ford Thunderbird pulls up and bearded honcho Murkage Dave steps out accompanied by fellow band member and director Gaika Tavares and the drums thump in the background, you get an immense feeling of heroicness about this video, and that's only in the opening minute. What follows is an additional 3 minute visual assault that pieces together portrait shots of the band and another hot Manchester talent Bipolar Sunshine, scantily clad women throwing shapes and mirrored shots, all of which are cut by flashing images. All of these aspects come together to form one of the most visually pleasing videos of 2013, and this video serves as further proof of that Gaika is currently one of the UK's most visionary directors.

Alongside the release of the video, Murkage also made "La Plage" and the three dope remixes from Corporal F, Lungs and Ahadadream, available to buy on the UK iTunes and on the US iTunes. The debut album from the Murkage boys is due out in 2014, but until then peep the video below and don't forget to follow the group on their individual Twitter accounts; @MurkageDave, @GaikaSays, @KleptoDJ, @Two_1ne and @amatamasamo.
