If you're ever at a loss for finding good music, a fail proof place to check out is the Beatport Top Releases chart. Unlike the more visible Top 100 lists, this list is a little off the beaten path and features the best in something that seems to be less and less in style: the album, LP and EP. But for music lovers like us, the Top Releases is the place to be to find the best stuff hiding just under the surface. That's where I found British producer Bareskin's latest EP entitled Distorted Symmetry, which in a few words is a three track wonder that after only 10 seconds of listening, I could tell was something special. Featuring a range of deep melodies, tech house and disco house variations and music that will keep you grooving for the rest of this weekend, Distorted Symmetry is a soulful look into Bareskin's production style. Starting out with the disco soul infused "Distorted Symmetry" and ending with the future deep acid "I Was Born To A Woman From Space," this EP is a great way to start Friday night and a must add to your library.
