We've been looking forward to Mikky Ekko's debut album ever since we heard "Pull Me Down". The Clams Casino-produced record foreshadowed more impressive music to come – obviously apparent on "Stay," the beautifully heartbreaking hit he penned for Rihanna. With a Grammy performance under his belt without an album even out, Ekko's been full steam ahead, working on his debut album and collaborating with artists like Active Child and David Guetta. He's familiarizing himself with live audiences both in the US and Europe, nabbing the opening slot for Justin Timberlake at the iTunes Festival and now trekking around the States with PMR Records starlet Jessie Ware. His last release was the fun-loving "Kids" tune over the summer, which Swedish producer Oliver Nelson helps us revisit with his upbeat reinterpretation of the record.

Pumped full of effervescent synths, Oliver Nelson's rework of "Kids" takes Ekko's indie single to the dance floor. He's quickly earned such a reputation – his nu-disco remixes of Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" and Naughty Boy's "La La La" have easily ushered him into the thriving yet competitive generation of remixers and beatsmiths who've taken the Internet by storm. On "Kids," the Stockholm resident easily captures the playfulness of the record and nods casually toward the lyrics without overdoing it. Between the surging disco rhythm and fun melodies, it's clear that Nelson's warm, xylophone-esque keys steal the show on this tune. Listen below.
