Pop music doesn’t always have to be up-tempo, bass heavy radio-ready jams; it can also be compelling and vulnerable. There is no better example of this than Brooklynites Wet. The indie pop threesome, have slowly built a reputation for themselves around the New York City music scene. They caught the attention of music lovers in the spring of 2012, and eventually signed to Neon Gold Records. Wet infuses Electro, and R&B to create a unique brand of heartfelt music.
Wet’s song “You’re The Best,” is a smooth track, which transitions between being a leisure, easy listening song and a fun pop tune. Somehow, Wet makes the changes in mood work seamlessly without sounding awkward. I’m curious to see how Wet develops as a band over time. The Wet EP was released on October 15th so do yourself a favor and give it a listen.
