Germany’s Munk returns with the first single from his album set to release next spring. As Munk, Mathias Modica has worked with a number of different vocalists to compliment his signature deep disco vibes. It’s a sound that entertains the idea of a European James Murphy. For “The Beat,” Munk partners with London’s Mona Lazette creating a playful and infectious little disco house number. It’s a simple composition, but its spicy nature ignites a fiery disco stomp under your feet.
Gomma Records, Modica’s label with friends Jonas Imbery, will release The Beat EP. Remixes by Kolombo and Shiny Disco Club are fire starters that can’t be ignored. Kolombo’s remix amplifies the jackin’ groove, and Shiny Disco Club goes for a jazzy approach. The pitched down vocals and keyboards give his remix a fun Latin lounge vibe. You can find The Beat EP available now exclusively from Beatport, and October 25th everywhere else.
