YJ is an up-and-coming lyricist hailing from the UK. He made waves with his music video for one of the tracks on the mixtape, "#Spazz," in which he showed his level of dedication and work ethic to his craft.
He's back now and ready to bring a full-fledged mixtape to the scene, and luckily for us, he was happy to let us premiere all of his hard work. Keeping a chill vibe throughout, the brilliance of his craft is left for his lyrical content. There is no gimmick here- his speciality is his words, and every single track highlights all of his brilliance, as well as how much potential he has beyond the underground scene. While "#Spazz" holds some electronic components, the rest all feel like an old to the simpler styles of rap.
With standout tracks like "Two Way Traffic," and "Where Do We Go," YJ has the potential to be a huge name. Lyrically gifted, with a knack for rapping over irresistible beats, I expect his name to be much bigger in 2014.
