Blende – "Rikki"

After doing remix work for Lana Del Rey, Two Door Cinema Club, and Skrillex, Blende is back with a track of his own.  “Rikki” dares you to hold on.  It gives you twenty seconds to prepare for take off, allowing you to familiarize with the bass tones and crisp claps, but once you’re in the air, the bass starts to swivel and sweep.  It barrel rolls and yo-yos, and you have to hang on to the anthemic lyrics and buzzing synthwork. Halfway through, there’s some atmospheric hang time.  The arpeggios build us up from there, until the stutter snares break us back down.  The bridge and the break work nicely to step outside of the nu-disco mold, allowing us to appreciate it once we’re back in. So jump right in and come along for the ride with Blende.
