Hippie Sabotage is responsible for tonight's chilled out tune. "Stay High" is a flip of Tove Lo's original track titled "Habits", which was released just last week. This restructured piece ventures into an electronic arena while remaining true to Hippie Sabotage's R+B/hip-hop roots as evident in their remix of Izzy Bizu's "White Tiger". The percussive ticking provides an ideal backdrop for the euphoric female vocals, while the synthetic additives work their magic throughout.
These Sacramento-based brothers go by the names of So Crates and Sour Beats, and haven't got as much exposure as they truly deserve. "Stay High" lifts us up and resurfaces again, keeping our ears wide open for what is to come. If anyone is missing someone out there, the lyrical content of "Stay High" might conjure up some suppressed emotions. But, in the best way possible.
