Albany, New York new wave duo Titanics have released their first visual off their debut album Soft Treasure. The duo consisting of vocalist Mark Lombardo and guitar player Derek Rogers have quickly gained traction within the scene earning placement on the 53rd Mercedes Benz Best New Talent mixtape. "Low Frames" showcases Titanics' signature lyrical focus of creating a feeling and aesthetic as opposed to a narrative. As Lombardo explained to me, "We strive for an atmospheric beauty through the use of rich sounds and minimalism." I have to agree with him. The interchange between his vocal offerings and Rogers' glassy guitar creates that perfect end of summer vibe.
Shot by Justin Halstead, the "Low Frames" video sees the Titanics crew journey through the foothills of Albany in search of our protagonist's love interest. The visual aptly matches the minimalism of the track, but also incorporates a type of fantasy element that further enhances their mantra of creating music for "dreamers and insomniacs alike."
You can catch the Titanics in Albany this Saturday at the Pearlapalooza festival which is being headlined by Portugal. The Man. Check out the rest of Soft Treasure here.
