Grizzly Bear – "Will Calls" (Marfa Demo)

In announcing a reissue of their 2012 album Shields the always-maturing Grizzly Bear have released a “Will Calls” (Marfa Demo). Finding the group at a somewhat transitional period in their widespread and critically acclaimed career the quartet seem to have found a groove within their sound that can be credited to the warm and raw characteristics that the resurgence of vinyl enthusiasts have come to know.

As the weather will begin to change in the coming months “Will Calls” (Marfa Demo) utilizes a grounded and somewhat experimental approach to accentuate two heavier, open ended breaks, providing an all encompassing shelter. When giving the song the attention it deserves, listeners will notice that a mixture of wire brushed percussion and an under-toned saxophone work to air-out the song as singer Edward Droste’s humble vocal tones provide ground.
