I’m kind of shocked we haven’t seen a large remix wave crashing into our Soundcloud feeds of Coldplay’s latest track, “Atlas.” A single from the soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the original is done in classic Coldplay style, with triumphant instrumental backing an emotional crescendo of vocals from Chris Martin.
Our favorite up and coming producer Gazzo has caught this train before anyone else could get on, being one of the first to quench our unavoidable thirst for a Coldplay remix. And oh boy is his work on “Atlas” euphoric. Combining a disco and electro lead into a build that showcases the piano and vocals from the original (as it should be), this remix translates the emotion that we usually see in a trance track and flips it into gear with melodic progressive club intensity. It could be so easy to butcher a track with such depth, but Gazzo has really only emphasized the intensity of the overall build and journey that Coldplay takes us on to turn “Atlas” into a club track we’d like to put our hands in the air for.
