While most of us spent the summer dancing away plenty of unforgettable nights under the strobe light, 20 year old Justin Jay kept busy by supplying the music at numerous Dirtybird parties hosted worldwide. Promptly gaining a solid reputation in Los Angeles and presently a student at the University of Southern California, the term “homegrown talent” becomes epitomized by the young producer, and rightfully so. Immersing himself in music by studying the piano from an early age, it comes to no surprise how even Dirtybird label owner Claude VonStroke found mass appeal in Justin Jay’s musical age. Making a name for himself at a fast pace, he now takes the next step by debuting The Jaguar EP on L.A.’s Culprit label. Known for releasing some of the city’s finest local talent, it was only a matter of time before the partnership came to a realization—and Earmilk’s got the first full-length look at title track, “The Jaguar”.

Glazed with synths full of much flair and aroma that make it easily digestible, the beat alone is enough of a motive to make this a staple warm-up track. Adding particular charm are the soft guitar chords that gently spring out gracefully, displaying a side to Justin Jay’s style that sets him aside from other electronic music producers today.  Out September 9th on Culprit, make sure you don’t skip out with what he's got cooking here. Good stuff!
