On October 15, former hardcore punks The Men are set to follow up their most recent LP New Moon with an all acoustic EP, appropriately called Campfire Songs. The first song to be released from Campfire Songs is a re-working of Moon cut "The Seeds" which finds the band heading further down the path to Neil Young inspired country rock and away from the reckless thrash of the band's former sound. If this new version of "The Seeds" is any indication, Campfire Songs will likely serve as a solidification of The Men's rapid transformation, and perhaps maturation as a band. Many a grunge rock band has experienced a fleeting period of fascination with country and folk, but with Campfire Songs set to serve as a sort of postscript to New Moon, The Men could very well be in it for the long haul.
