It is a universal truth, that we all become nostalgic for something. Whether it be an old friend, an old lover, an old song. We all remember and long for something from the past. Artist Anna Nordeen's manages to capture a cultural nostalgia with her latest track "Tom Petty". “Tom Petty” is a memorial, of sorts. It’s cast into the mold of a doo-wop single, bright piano walking, with the beat and snares snapping off most of the percussion, and don’t forget your tambourines. Not to mention the palm-muted guitar leading tight rhythm strums.“Tom Petty” is more than the sum of its parts. It hearkens back to simpler times, musically and lyrically. Both genuine and simple, it’s a breath of fresh air.
