With the release of the cover art and track list for the upcoming Lords of Flatbush EP from Brooklyn duo The Underachievers, word of them working with producer Lex Luger was confirmed. "Leaving Scraps", the first single from the project, gives us the first taste of what to expect from this interesting combination.
On the production tip, Lex provides a slightly more mellow environment for UA than on the boisterous bangers he has been known to churn out. Over vibrant synths and a thick bass, the technical ability of the Brainfeeder signees are on show as they switch flows cleverly and continue to push their listeners to open their minds. Just when you think that Issa Gold might be the better of the two, Ak comes through with a strong verse of his own.
The Lords of Flatbush EP is expected to drop on August 29th, featuring more production from Lex as well as contributions from Eric Arc Elliot of Flatbush Zombies and EFF.DOPE.
