On the heels of an extensive tour promoting their latest record Build, our favorite genre-blenders announced another album, Monks, due for release in early October. This seems a bit fast considering the last album was released earlier this year, but the upcoming album—set to be a conglomerate of beat-heavy hip hop shticks—is a project that's been in the works for some time.

In our interview with them earlier this year, Jesse mentioned the upcoming album as a project that helped stem a fair deal of the music heard on Build. The flagship single, "Cannon in the Heavens", is essentially a rework of their classic "Golden Ghost", slapped with some fat rhymes and dubbed up with some acceptably subtle womps. It's an interesting twist on their style, but that's been what they've done for years—these guys aren't ones for complacency.
