A few months ago Trevor Simpson and The Cataracs, from San Francisco and Berkeley respectively, released the electro house track “Dagger”, a pointed trip through lively mids and staggered breaks that dropped on the World Town label. Yesterday the remix EP dropped and in a weird twist of fate it brought together a trio of my favorite artists: Cold Blank, AndDrop!, and Reid Stefan. Suffice it to say I was quite surprised at this group, considering that each has a signature style quite unlike the other.

Cold Blank, the Los Angeles duo comprised of Chris Gaspar and Manny Luquin, caught my ear years ago with their captivating electro house track “Marshmallow Man”. Almost a year ago they released their debut album, The Agenda, and most recently they produced a tremendous remix of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s “Nuthin’ But A G Thang”. Listen to their big room remix of “Dagger” below and keep up with them through their Burn The Fire radio show.

Next up is AndDrop!, the trio of Joe Wiseman and Harris and Sylvain Kauffman. Since their debut EP, Boogaloo, garnered massive attention throughout the electronic community, these three seem to be unstoppable. Winning the EDC Discovery project last month came as yet another accomplishment, an experience that Wiseman assures me was nothing other than awesome. Be sure to follow them as this is just their bright beginning and grab the free download of the remix by clicking "purchase" below.

Last would be Reid Stefan, the New Yorker who used to go by Reidiculous and made a name with his indulgent pop remixes (“Love You Like A Lovesong” is probably my most guilty admission).  If you have yet to take a listen, head over to his Facebook for a smorgasbord of free tracks, all available for download. With “Dagger" he serves up the progressive house end of the remix pack, a thrilling ride through extended climbs that drop in to minimal chaos. Stefan is also offering this remix as a free download via his Facebook.
