Ellie Goulding – "Burn"

Ellie Goulding just kicked off another set of US tour dates as the opening act on Bruno Mars' incredible Moonshine and Jungle Tour. I was lucky enough (thank you, Ellie!) to catch the tour at her first date in New Jersey. It's a show you don't want to miss, and Bruno's live performance is incredible (and hot – he gets into a killer surprise R&B medley of Ginuwine's "Pony," Aaliyah's "Rock The Boat," Soul For Real's "Candy Rain" and more).

Yesterday, Ellie took to her Twitter to quietly release her next single, "Burn," which nods a bit more to mainstream pop than the music we're used to hearing from her. It's a summer-ready dance track, and it's definitely set to take radio by storm. Co-written by One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder, "Burn" was produced by Greg Kurstin and was originally intended for Leona Lewis, but found a (more fitting, in my opinion) home with EG as the first single off her forthcoming reissue of Halcyon. "Burn" will hit iTunes on August 18.

There's something about the beat that makes me hear a Diplo remix with some reggae influences, but it's a great standalone track regardless. The Halcyon reissue tracklisting is as follows, featuring a few new songs and collaborations:

1. Don’t Say A Word
2. My Blood
3. Anything Could Happen
4. Only You
5. Halcyon
6. Figure 8
7. Joy
8. Hanging On
9. Explosions
10. I Know You Care
11. Atlantis
12. Dead In The Water
13. Calvin Harris feat. Ellie Goulding – I Need Your Love
14. Burn
15. Goodness Gracious
16. You My Everything
17. Hearts On Chains
18. Ellie Goulding & Madeon – Stay Awake
19. Got It Under Control
20. Ellie Goulding and DJ Fresh – Flashlight
21. How Long Will I Love You
22. Tessellate [Alt J cover – watch the video here]
23. Ellie Goulding x BURNS – Midas Touch
