Sex-obsessed LA vocalist Ty Dolla $ign has been one of the more underappreciated musicians in R&B. His 2012 mixtape, Beach House, was highly acclaimed (by the few who heard it) and spawned one of the year’s best records, “My Cabana.” Now, the crazed crooner is back with the sequel to the aforementioned tape.
Beach House 2 is vulgar and raunchy with a sexual honesty rarely seen in music. The singer possesses a sultry voice that is sharply contradicted by his crude content, but it is unexplainably cohesive. Features include artists like Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, Chris Brown, The Game, Trey Songz, IAMSU, Kirko Bangs, and more. On the tracks Dolla $ign doesn’t produce himself, he taps names like FKi, DJ Mustard, DJ Spinz, The Invasion, and others to jump behind the boards.
