Daft Punk’s hit single off their chart topping album Random Access Memories, is arguably the song of the summer. It’s playing in every club and every radio station across the US, it’s even got Obama singing “we’re up all night to get lucky.”

When I first gave RAM a thorough listen I was left feeling a little uneasy. It lacked that iconic anthemic dance vibe that Daft Punk does so well. Reminding myself that a full remix album was in the works, I was able to appreciate the album for what it truly was: a meticulously orchestrated masterpiece. Daft Punk announced in an interview with BBC1 that they would be remixing the album themselves and that the remix for “Get Lucky” would be out by the end of June.

“We’re working on some mixes ourselves… So, yes, there will probably be Daft Punk mixes of Daft Punk. Usually, we never mix ourselves, that’s something we feel we’re interested in doing this time. The first track we’re remixing is ‘Get Lucky.’ That will be out by the end of June.”

Holding true to their word, Daft Punk has released an extended remix of “Get Lucky” Holding true to the groovy funk vibe of the original, Daft Punk accent the track with drawn out guitar riffs, chopped up hooks, and lots of “get luckys.” Along with the release of this remix, they have also graced us with a promo at their video for “Get Lucky.”  Check out the remix for yourself and stay tuned for more new remixes from Daft Punk.
