It's been a few months since the duo Norin & Rad has released a solo single, and today they've broken that streak with the release of "Bird is the Word." Out on their loyal partner Anjunabeats, this production proves why the California-based duo mesh so well with this imprint: they give us music that's famous for its brand of laid back, beachy trance and transports us right back to the Indian beaches that inspired the label concept in the first place. And the boys of Norin and Rad, Bruce Karlsson and Nick Sember, bring the added element of quirky-cool Americanness. With the name Norin & Rad inspired from the comic book Silver Surfer and the guys' retro-inspired look and title to the track, they bring some quirky and fun personality to the Anjuna-brand of trance. "Bird is the Word" has its toe dipped into the electro trance that the boys have a preference for, and also keeps its roots in winding, energetic and futuristic composition.
