Welcome to the 50th edition of The Club! In case you missed it, this week there's been quite some drama going on in the dance music community. Or well, it's more like the dance music community vs. Will.I.Am for taking creative property and repurposing it as his own production. The track he used, coincidentally, is one of the most beloved tracks in dance music, and though it's a few years old, "Rebound" by Arty & Mat Zo is not something to tamper with. One thing we've learned from this experience is that it's quite something to see fans that are so tightly knit and proud of what their music represents, ban together with such ferocity to defend their people and their music. And the most reassuring thing we've learned is that there is certainly no lack of creativity or originality left in electronic music; demonstrated by the amount of music we've chosen for this week.
Mat Zo & Porter Robinson
Easy – Remixes
Anjunabeats/Ministry of Sound
En lieu of the controversy this week, we can’t forget the good music that was released. Unsurprisingly, this includes the remix package from Mat Zo and Porter Robinson’s huge single, “Easy.” Before the Israeli and American powerhouse of young electro and trance talent proclaimed, “Will.I.Am.Not” this week, they partnered up with up and coming artists like Modek and Lemaitre to put together a solid breadth of remixes. But the real standout here is from Canadian duo Botnek, who present a mind-blowing, jaw-dropping representation of the original mix that’s been overwhelmingly supported by their peers (and it’s no wonder).

GTRONIC
Morpheus/Dufus
Dim Mak Records
887845917195
Dim Mak’s belligerent Belgian, GTRONIC, is back with a vengeance, having just released the 8-track Morpheus & Dufus EP. It’s been since last May that we’ve seen an original from Greg Grauwels, and these three get so dirty you can barely touch them. My personal favorite, “Morpheus”, comes in four flavors: original (a roller coaster ride of filth with 8-bit flares), and remixes by Moonbotica, The Sneekers, and Dirty Disco Youth. “Dufus” also employs the talents of fellow label mates Rusty Warriors and Ostblockschlampen, who both keep the song solidly grimy electro house. Finally, GTRONIC released the last original, “Moticon”, as a free track via his soundcloud, so go grab it here.

Henry Fong & Toby Green
Revival
Megaton Records
MEGA013
One thing that the growing mainstream popularity of dance music can teach us is to not forget where we've come from. And that's what Florida native Henry Fong has done in his latest composition and partnership with Toby Green. While keeping the melodies that made him famous and the electro club beats that keep dance at the forefront of pop culture these days, Fong has reminded us about what we love about club music with disco-inspired grooves in "Revival."

Ashley Wallbridge
Yin Yang
Garuda
GARUDA057D
Ashley Wallbridge is one of the next golden children to come out of Gareth Emery's Garuda Recordings. The British producer shows his real potential with the release of "Yin Yang" this week, which doubles as a beautiful instrumental feat and a huge club hit. Gathering a ton hype from radio show features before its release, "Yin Yang" is a song you'll want to listen to on repeat, and though it doesn't have any vocals, you'll know the tune by heart soon enough.
