The picture above is me. Just kidding, kind of, not really. Last night was rough but only because I decided to go against everyone with bringing the worst pair shoes to SXSW and sleeping on a chair. My head feels okay– haven't started popping advils yet.
Day 3 of Austin felt incredibly long. It began at the Austin Convention Center's help desk. On late Tuesday night, my press badge was confiscated because according to the 50 year old door lady, the badge with a picture of my face on it did not belong to me and I must file a report to the APD if it really was mine. She immediately snapped it from around my neck and sat on it without answering any further questions. Maybe it was my fault for not fighting with her the night of but after seeking help the following morning, no one believed me so now I have a wristband that press of SXSW help me comp for the rest of the festival. Not complaining anymore because that already happened all day yesterday. Just kind of angry that I won't have access to hear 50 cent's speech tomorrow.
After all of that, heading to the Live For The Funk showcase was probably the best idea all afternoon. Me, Lori and Jessica walked into the venue in the middle of Cashmere Cat's set,he was playing his remix Jeremih, "773 Love'. The subtle bed squeaks immediately cheered me up and everything felt right again. Open bar at Live For The Funk might have also helped, along with running into everyone I care about. Thank you for that, Cashmere Cat and LFTF. I took a shot of patron for both of you. As I mentioned in a previous post, Ryan Hemsworth followed Cashmere Cat's set– playing yet another showcase at SXSW.

From LFTF, we left for the Ghostly International party at Holy Mountain. All of us stayed there for the remainder of the night because the lineup was that worth it. New York's electronic R&B duo, Beacon, once again, lured me into believing in love. Chill-wave god, Baths, reminded me how beautiful life is with his enchanted voice and as soon as ocean washes of "Lovely Bloodflow" came on, I felt a rebirth. Then, the mysterious wolf masked, Slow Magic, ended the showcase with his magical drumming and euphoria spread through every body in the room. Ghostly International's showcase really felt like a holy mountain as each artist's set felt like a different spiritual journey.
