Their sound won't tell you, but Pixel Fix happen to be from the same town as Radiohead. But if you let the namedrop and not their sophisticated melodies grab your attention, then shame on you.
The 4-piece who hail from Oxford, bring us another foray into their chillwave aesthetic that at times weaves together a thing fog of dark R&B without a moment's notice. Like with their last number, "Rosa," "Lake" slowly opens the floodgates to a tempered intro only to break apart into hard-hitting pop. For those of you interested, "Lake" tells of a past experience of a refusal to commit to a once-loved one, and the difficulty expressing that.

EARMILK was pleasantly surprised to discover that the video that accompanies "Lake," as seen below, is not just stock footage. The director behind the mesmerizing images actually captured San Bushmen at Jack's Camp in Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, Botswana.
