Francis Chiser, previously known as DJ Franchise, continues to keep the Bay Area–and beyond–dancing with his body-moving mixes. If you remember him from our Elevator Speech Series, you'll know that his roots are firmly planted in a deep knowledge of hip hop, growing up with Public Enemy and Wu Tang Clan streaming through his eardrums. But as some of his more recent mixes attest, his keen music sensibilities have led him to create some highly innovative indie mixes that lack nothing in widespread appeal, no matter what genre you claim to ride or die by.

Case in point is his newest mix, "Tom's Summer" a tribute to Tom of the iconic indie film, 500 Days of Summer. Tumbling over with lighthearted grooves from Talking Heads, Grouplove, Kimbra, Santigold, Fiona Apple, Miike Snow, M83, and more, "Tom's Summer" delivers a serious dance beat and is the just the thing we were looking for as we watch winter give way to spring. Quality headphones highly advised.
