As of yesterday, our favorite indie-pop remix genies Little Daylight have made the transformation into our favorite indie-pop genies. This change was spawned by the release of their first original track, "Overdose".
Overdose is everything you have come to love about Little Daylight – the unabashed optimism, the melodic nirvana, and the pulsating beat are every bit as enjoyable as they've ever been. Contemporary synths and dramatic drums (that sound like they belong in the soundtrack for The Last Samurai) drive an irresistible, anthemic hook. Simply stated, "Overdose" is the kind of song that demands a reaction from listeners; be it a head bob, an "oh yeah!", or a major lifestyle change (ending/starting a relationship? a tattoo?). And the best part about this release from Little Daylight is that it's just the first one; there's many more to come.
