Over the last few years the electronic music industry has exploded, as demand for the genre continues to grow exponentially across the globe. 2013 promises to be even bigger than 2012, and, as you may have noticed, the dance family here at Earmilk has added a number of new members to its ranks to keep up with this. While Kevin shifts his focus to Earmilk Events, I, along with the help of Steph Evans and the rest of the Earmilk dance crew, hope to bring you all the bacon, cheese, and extra toppings that have spilled out from this week’s shmorgasboard of electro and progressive releases. While the last few Clubs focused on the best of 2012, here again we will begin to deliver the latest and greatest dance tracks of 2013. As always you can expect a little bit of the known and unknown, so test them out and support the artists however you can!
PROGRESSIVE HOUSE
This time around, a young producer from British Colombia, Moiez, brings us one of the big progressive house tracks, “The Vision.” Packed full of expansive spaces and wonder-filled chords, the song feels much more seasoned than one might expect from the 20-year-old artist. At the end of each section the claps start hammering out on each count, giving the song an extra drive and crispness to accompany the bold, pulsing beats below.

Hardwell along with Dannic and Dyro, soon will be setting out across the frozen tundra for his Revealed Canadian Bus Tour. The Dutch star continues to excite crowds with his high-energy sets and chart topping hits, like his latest claim to fame “Apollo.” His rework of Joe Ghost’s “Are You Ready” is no different, featuring stadium chords, long builds and a heavy emphasis on percussion. Check back soon for results on Earmilk's contest to see what two lucky DJs will open for these superstars.

ELECTRO HOUSE
Now for all things electro, this week we will be sampling from veterans like The Bloody Beetroots to artists who have just begun to carve their place in this cutthroat industry. First off comes the track “Finally” from Mikkas and Amba Shepherd. With an unbelievable and unrelenting bassline, coupled with Shepherd’s classic vocals, the track can do no wrong. (I have a feeling this may become a new set favorite for some of the big spring festivals.)

Candyland has seen a huge explosion in popularity ever since their remix of the Bingo Player’s “Rattle” become an instant Soundcloud sensation and Beatport contest winner. The co-ed Californian duo hasn’t stopped there, most recently releasing their Bring The Rain EP saw a star-studded collaborative effort, receiving massive attention. Lexi Forche’s silky vocals ring out across the EP-titled track, captivating your attention until syncopated madness descends upon you with the drop.

GRAB BAG
And because what listening experience would be complete without a little shuffle, here are some random favorites at the moment. You'll hear everything from Oliver Twizt tapping into his trap, one-upping the chainz, to Gabriel & Dresden who break our hearts with Sia's melancholy vocals.
