Devendra Banhart – "Never Seen Such Good Things"

Two weeks after releasing the first sample of his upcoming record Mala, Devendra Banhart gives us "Never Seen Such Good Things". While Banhart's new song can seem almost celestial, as his vocal performance is carried by clouds composed of a marching drum beat, background guitar chords and amusing little tidbits chiming in along the way, do not be deceived. Like many of Banhart's antics, he uses the title of the song to give false expectations of the lyrical content. Devandra's message stems from the opening line "Never seen such good things go so wrong," referring to loving someone until you marry them and then realizing that they aren't the one.
