Despite its title, the newest cut from Los Angeles's Local Natives seems to be wearing shoes made of helium, not concrete. Rolling snares and lilting harmonies share the air in "Heavy Feet", which saw the light of day for the first time recently on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic. Now, Local Natives have shared the studio cut of the tune, the latest glimpse at their upcoming sophomore record Hummingbird. "Maybe I know better than to read more than what's written," muses Taylor Rice, whose steady lyrical meditations are outlined sharply by the song's overall buoyancy.
