I first caught wind of WatchTheDuck when their super hot video for their single “Poppin’ off” hit my inbox. It was everything and then some. Combining their “soul step” roots with some serious dance moves and a larger than life duck. The Alabama natives sure know how to turn any room into a dance party. If you aren’t familiar with these guys get acquainted, because I have a feeling that they definitely will be “poppin off” in 2013

Hailing from Alabama and currently residing in Atlanta, the group’s members include Eddie Smith III, Jesse Rankins and Jonathan Wells and a duck? Yes the fourth member of the group is a duck, who shines as the groups mascot. The reason why? Their mantra surrounds the concept of a duck, Eddie states “Everybody sees the duck traveling smoothly on top of the water,” but nobody sees it kicking hard as hell under it, struggling to stay afloat. We would always say ‘WatchTheDuck’ whenever we were in certain industry scenarios, when everyone’s your friend and is trying to be of importance. We say it to each other to kind of lighten each other’s mood.”

Today, 12/21/12 at 12:21 AM we have an extra special treat, a free 11 track “remixed tape” that will satisfy any music lovers palate. Featuring artists like Ciara, French Montana and Cash Out the remixed tape will definitely get you on your feet and dancing. Be sure to head on over to their Soundcloud to listen and check out the entire tracklist below.

For WatchTheDuck musical freedom means making great music they love where they can pour their hearts and soul into a beat. They are currently in the studio working on a forthcoming EP due out on Epic Records and are ready to bring their underground vibe to the masses.
