We never know what to expect next from Pierce Fulton: his compositions are unpredictable, but in the best way possible. And his most recent project is a perfect example of his personal music taste's influence on his own production. Like what we've heard in "West Egg" and "10/6 (That Should Do It)", Fulton has entered the world of downtempo electronica in his latest work.
Yesterday he posted his remix of "In No Time" by fellow American band Mutemath for free download for his fans, and the track has swiftly taken off. The original song is quite ambient, and centers around soft, uplifting vocals. Structured like an alternative rock version of a dance track, it slowly and gently crescendos, creating quite the listening experience. Fulton has capitalized on these great traits, adding an electronic element that doesn't overshadow the original intent of the song. Using a discerned hand in this remix really paid off – it's simply wonderful.
