At the ripe old age of 22, Thomas Slinger, a.k.a. Gemini, is a producer, singer-songwriter, and label owner with a few notable EPs under his belt, and now he is about to wrap his two-week North American tour. In conjunction with the tour, he just dropped his new EP Mercury under his own label Inspected Records. Considering his other label co-founders include Zeds Dead and KOAN Sound, he's not doing too shabby for a young twenty-something. Mercury is an electro-fied trip. Deviating from his signature heavy bass sound, Gemini ventures into the realm of electro madness on a few tracks and does it in a truly proper fashion. That’s not to say his signature sound does not shine throughout.

His first track, "Robots", clearly demonstrates a newly acquired taste for the electro house beat. "3D Romeo" is a previously released track off the EP and it has seen its fair share of praise. It first premiered on Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record In the World on Radio 1 and features the beautiful vocals of Fabienne. Gemini does an excellent job of seamlessly interlacing the vocals with the smooth dubstep elements. Next up, "Freedom", a track that has undoubtedly demolished speaker systems in clubs around the world. Here he puts his new heavy electro sound preference on display. The track itself is a big banger and even bigger artists like Tiesto and Axwell have been showing their support by playing it out. "Losing My Way" is a deeper track with a more melancholy feel to it. The track, although short, packs some serious emotion. Once again he lays melodically beautiful vocals over a seriously chilled out beat. "Second Law" rounds out the EP, nicely bringing us back to the electro sound he started off with. The five-track EP is like a journey through his versatility and talent.
