Label Original Cultures and Zooo Print & Press have come together to create a unique record. Two sides, two artists, damn fine artwork, and some never-before-heard music. The first in the Zoooriginals series features two Japanese artists: Daisuke Tanabe and Jealousguy. They bring some heady hip-hop beats to the table and soak them in an ethereal electronic sheen. The cheekily titled "Wana" means "trap" in Japanese, but Daisuke's tune is anything but a joke. The Ninja Tune/Brownswood/Project: Mooncircle veteran pulls you through a canopy of warm pads and jittering 808 hits. It's a strong enough single on its own, though it's backed with the fiery "Hydra". Jealousguy invokes a cacophony of spaced-out blips, a funky slap bassline, and disjointed beats that almost resemble breaks during the brief breakdowns. Feast your eyes on the artwork by Ericailcane and know that this will be a very limited vinyl-only release. So don't sleep when it drops – November 26th. Full stream of "Wana" below if the artwork alone doesn't sell you.
