Young Jeezy – "We Done It Again"

Anyone who has listened to hip hop long enough knows that politics is central to the genre's core. No matter the era, rappers have been whacking lyrical hammers on presidents and pundits before there was even a beat to rap to. Some of us will recall Young Jeezy's quotable "My President is Black", which featured Nas and gained an anthem-like level of attention when it was recorded the day Obama was first elected Democratic nomination for presidency in 2008. Flip forward four years and Obama's brand new second term serves as new material for Jeezy on "Done It Again", where he touches on some of the most significant social issues as of late, including economic disparity, Trayvon Martin, Hurricane Katrina and the auto industry — but not before expressing some high hopes for his Black president.
