Animal Youth ‎- "Keep Up" / "Try Again"

We are not ones to spread rumors here at EARMILK, but rumor has it that UK producer Redlight has a new moniker: Animal Youth. Luckily, Redlight isn't too shy about spreading rumors on his Rinse FM show. Those familiar with Redlight know that his songs have recently been dance floor-oriented, with big room dance club acclaim. Before being Redlight, Conquerer, Animal Youth, and Lobster Boy, Hugh Pescod came from a humble beginning in the late 90s drum & bass scene as Clipz. Since then, chart toppers like "What You Talking About!?" with Ms. Dynamite, "Stupid", and "Source 16" have sent Redlight from the underground to the mainstream dance scene.

Anyone who has tuned into his show for the last couple months will be familiar with two remixes that were destined for white label from the start. Under the moniker Animal Youth, Redlight is releasing two tunes that feature vocals from chart toppers "Lose My Breath" from Destiny's Child and "Try Again" by Aaliyah. As unlikely as you'd imagen these tracks would be appropriate for the dance floor, it's pulled off here in a spectacular fashion. These mixes are big, bright, and ready for the club.

Not unlike "Keep Up", "Try Again" follows the same hard-hitting path as the A-side, but with a little more cohesion. With a tighter and more predictable beat, the b-side pushes itself as my favorite of the release. Without giving too much into cliché, there is little more to say about this release. It's basically another long-delayed, solid release from Redlight, or whatever he goes by these day. As you may have expected, this white label release will be extremely limited, and if you haven't pre-ordered already, you should as soon as possible.
