Afrojack first caught my attention back at EDC 2010 – yes, the last year the ever-evolving festival graced the LA Coliseum’s stages for only two days – when Eva Simmon’s electrifying vocals rang out through the crowd in “Take Over Control.” Fast-forward two years and I’m not sure you could go to a massive and not hear one of his songs. Today he adds his vision to Steve Aoki & Angger Dimas’ “Beat Down” with Australian-American hip hop princess, Iggy Azalea. The track brings me back to the days of “Quacky,” with a stripped down noise that serves just the beats and highs. A nice addition also comes in the form of some heavily distorted vocals, taking Azalea’s lyrics down a few (ok, many) octaves.
