Today's delivery is brought to you by Uncut Diamond. He is a beatsmith based out of Reisbach, Germany. His game is in the midst of an already populated beat making world, but this small fish has a huge bite. With the dramatic increase of bedroom producers, it's pretty easy to overlook a certain individual. Trust me. Being a beathead that I am, I usually can tell if the track is going to be just like any other beatstrumental within the first 10 seconds. With all the sifting I do, it becomes second nature. Uncut Diamond has caught my attention recently with his creative beatsmithing. Incorporating modest, yet uncommon elements into the beat, he creates a sound that sets him apart from a majority of the rest. It's nowhere near experimental, but the mixture of unique sounds and effects gives a breath of fresh air.
His latest release, "Escape" is a wonderful example of his producing skills. He uses subtle but powerful guitar chopping in the back ground coupled with effected string sounds that resonate a lackadaisical mood. You can't help but recline and nod to the rhythm. Before you know it, the song drifts off leaving you wanting more. Another track the showcases his great producing skills is "She Doesn't Know". This fantastic track has a looped lyrical samples backed up with a groovin' hip-hop style beat, all of which is filtered through a retro-esque effect. Like "Escape" he incorporates subtle guitar chops in the background, which unpredictably elevates the tune to a whole new level.
