Today's delivery is brought to you by Ab-Soul. A couple of months back, Ab-Soul released his latest album, Control System, and listeners were presented with an album that was full of everything you would want in an hip-hop album. It has a little bit of everything; tracks discussing revolution, tracks sprinkled with playfulness and deep-thought, and then you have a song that, on the surface, is about that purple stuff. That brings us to today's pick which is called "Mixed Emotions". I'll admit it's a bit easy to pick a song like this considering the topic but it's not my fault that the track just so happens to kick in all the right places and I was just truly impressed what Ab-Soul was able to do with that old-school Merv Griffin Show sample.
