Back in May we introduced EARMILK readers to UK singer-songwriter Kymberley Kennedy and featured her single "That's What He Said". As promised Kennedy released her latest project, The Kym Possible Mixtape early last week.
The ten track mixtape showcases a diverse range of sounds spanning several genres. With the aid of her dynamic vocals, Kennedy proves her artistic flexibility as she meanders between traditional pop, progressive rock and more R&B-infused selections on her new mixtape. Whereas some projects tend to wane around the middle section, Kennedy hits her stride at the halfway mark with her emotive ballad "Hit and Run".

With its throbbing baseline and crisp percussion, "Green Apples vs Glory Box" finds Kym's old school charm at its best on a song that blends sensible contemporary pop production with a classic R&B vibe.

Kym arguably saves her best for last with the closing track which is an impressive cover of Pink Floyd's "The Great Gig in the Sky". Her wordless vocal work could easily give Clare Torry a run for her money. Seeing that cover performed live would definitely be a treat.

With two Glastonbury performances, a live session at Maida Vale Studios, a newly released project, and not to mention a performance at the Beat-Herder Music Festival in Lancashire this past weekend all under her belt, the UK songstress has no plans on resting on her laurels.
