With a beat that sounds one step from being a full-fledged dubstep track, accompanied by one of hip-hop's most dysfunctional characters here is Los Angeles (via Chicago) emcee Open Mike Eagle's "Cobra Commander". This joint will be included on digital copies of OME's upcoming album, 4NML HSPTL (Animal Hospital is what we're guessing) which is produced entirely by English producer Awkward and is set to be released June 26 on Fake Four Inc.
Now, depending on which version of the album you get it'll either completely or almost completely produced by Awkward, this is because "Cobra Commander's" beat was created by Kenny Segal who fills the heavy kickdrum with a flurry of morphed synths and a very MF DOOM-esque sample that pops up now and again. Although OME raps well over the alien beat, Danny Brown really sounds at home on this and the two different styles, OME with a cool, calm flow and Brown with the hype and energy, they complement and contrast one another in an interesting way.
