There are thousands of popular artists out there today making new singles all the time. With the increase in bedroom producers, though, the ability to simply download a whole studio that you can use right on your lap has made original songs more scarce. Now it seems that you're finding tens of thousands of remixes by artists with more and more ludicrous names, leaving you wondering, "Viking Sword Bro- what?" This weekly segment will bring you the popular remixes and the never heard of "Viking Sword Brothers" remixes of a (common) artist's singles. From all these bedroom producers we are seeing one thing, and that is absolutely fantastic, manipulated, warped remixes.

Today I've featured Arcade Fire to get the latest touch of Artist Remixed because let's face it, who doesn't love Arcade Fire? Those beautifully crafted melodies and catchy lyrics have entrapped millions of fans all over as they constantly play to sold out shows. This week I've decided to stick with my favourite 10 remixes and favourite 3 mashups. I've also included an extra list of goodies so if you can't get over the signature sound of Arcade Fire that's featured below then you have a whole new list of remixes to listen to.

Remixes

10. Hawk's Down-Tempo Remix

Hawk's down-tempo remix starts off my list of 10 favourite Arcade Fire remixes with a hardly down-tempo beat really. From the beginning this remix really only keeps the ambient glow from the original "Suburbs" which gives it that down-tempo vibe. Other than that I would have thought that Hawk's remix gives the original a bouncy bass and a catchier melody that make it a mix of eerie vocals (now beautifully looped and distorted) and a groovy tune. Enjoy.

9. WTE Remix

What the English's (WTE) remix is a heavy bass infused remix that from start to finish shakes the core of your brain. WTE uses the original vocals layering them in with their own wobble. This track is really nice structured together as it constantly goes back between a distorted sound of the vocals and a heavy bass that makes your chest hurt.

8. Tronik Youth Patience Edit

Tronik Youth's edit is a great mix of the original track "We Used to Wait." Tronik Youth takes the signing and the original rhythm and makes the track into something truly spectacular with highs and lows through structuring the main piano riff and the main synth. 

7. Christian TV Remix

Christian TV's remix hits home (literally) with a choir signing initially and a smooth beat that comes in that would make any downtempo fan instantly fall in love. When the fast pace beat comes in you know you truly have your self a treat in front of you as Christian TV layers a new and strange vocal scheme over the original signing from "Suburbs." I really enjoyed this remix because it's soft and eerie yet not ambient enough to make you fall asleep. It has a deep bass and kick that guide it throughout the whole three minutes.

6. Joeyverbeke. Remix

Joeyverbeke's remix is one of the softest, most ambient sounding tracks that I think I've ever featured in an Artist Remixed. It's soft and ghostly as it initially doesn't make any noise for the first couple of seconds and slowly creeps in without you even noticing it. From start to finish you might not even be aware of its gradual build as it takes you from the echoing noise of rain drops to the synth fade aways and warped vocals.

5. Christian Strobe Remix

Christian Strobe's remix was definitely one of the most popular remixes that I came across and for good reason. Christian Strobe manages to infuse his own style of progressive house with Arcade Fire's single "No Cars Go."  This track takes on a whole new look itself as it doesn't veer too far off from the original but changes enough that it's certainly set worthy for any inspiring DJ. It has just the right amount of energy mixed with a pop single and takes the time from weaving a catchy tune through the original beat to build up troughs and crests.

4. Dellamorte Remix

Dellamorte's remix really impressed me, from the initial beat you can instantly expect big things as it draws out the original melody from "Sprawl " and then adds a electronic side with a ambient structure. It's a real treat as his Dellamorte's remix almost sounds nothing like the original yet you will occasionally get small snippets of the vocals that reminds that you are, in fact, listening to just a remix of Arcade Fire.

3. Cry Wolf Remix

Cry Wolf's remix is actually a remix of Mr. Little Jeans' cover of Arcade Fire's "Suburbs." This track is the heavy bass infused remix everyone was waiting for when Mr. Little Jeans first came out with her cover as it scored to #1 on Hypem within hours. Cry Wolf's remix does the original more than enough justice as these two producers come crashing down with a warped and filthy spin on the melody. If there grime doesn't satisfy your thirst and hunger for disgustingly good dubstep then their heavy bass surely will when you hear how Cry Wolf perfectly layered it on top of the main beat.

2. Bass-Sick Remix

"Wake Up" is easily my favourite song by Arcade Fire so I knew I had to feature at least one amazing remix. Bass-Sick helped me out there, their remix is one of a kind. From the initial chords it loops the main track until it finally let's it roll out where it builds up with such suspense that you might just hold your breath the first time you hear it. When that catchy yelling that this track is so notorious for comes in you won't be able to stop yourself from just breaking loose and signing along. That is until Bass-Sick comes in with their grimey wobbles that completely shred the original with enough bass and filth you're sure to have your head shaking with disorientation.

1. Soulwax Remix

I hate to do this because Artist Remixed is not about the most popular remixes, if that's why you come weekly you're in the wrong place. This week though I had to give my overall favourite remix to the most popular remix of Arcade Fire by far. Soulwax's remix simply triumphs all others which gives further reason as to why it's the most popular remix. From its bouncy synths and groovy kicks to its distorted mix of the original melody you just simply can't sit still when you hear this track. Try it, I truly challenge you to sit still as this joyous, euphoric stuffed track floats right through your ear canals and gives you happiness like you didn't think possible. Even just the beat break down at 3:45 sends me chills to this day after listening to this track with more fingers than the amount of you reading this right now and that heavy bass that comes in at 5:15 still leaves me drooling. Without further ado, enjoy and take my challenge upon yourself to honestly sit still when you hear this remix.

Mashups

3. Phil RetroSpector Mashup

Phil RetroSpector takes the vocals from Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and beautifully mashes them over the single by Arcade Fire "Bruning Bridges."

2. OMGosh Mashup

OMGosh works with Asher Roth's rap and mixes it creatively combining it with the main melody from "Wake Up." I was really impressed by this mashup how OMGosh works with the tempo of both Asher's lyrics and the tempo of "Wake Up" finding a way to balance the two quite nicely. 

1. The Hood Internet Mashup

The Hood Internet yet again works their typical magic as they combine two tracks with such skill and accuracy that you would hardly notice it's actually a mashup. This week's mashup of Blondie and Arcade Fire is one for the "recently added' playlist.
