After being diagnosed with colon cancer in March of this year singer-songwriter Bobby Womack has been declared cancer-free after a recent successful surgery. On the heels of such good news comes the latest offering from Womack's upcoming album The Bravest Man In The Universe, which is a testament to the soul survivor's persevering will to survive. “Dayglo Reflection,” the latest from Womack's David Albarn and Richard Russell produced album, is a duet with the Lana Del Rey.
The song opens with an audio clip of Sam Cooke dropping a brief bit of wisdom that spiritually sets the tone for the record. The song's minimalist production, which is centered around a simple piano melody and unobtrusive percussion, allows Womack's gruff baritone and the vintage-tinged vocals of Lana Del Rey to co-exist and feed off of one another. Check out the song/animated video below and mark your calendars for the release of The Bravest Man In The Universe, available June 12 via XL Recordings.
