Multi-talented singer-songwriter, dancer and actress Tinashe came out with one hell of a debut mixtape earlier this year. Her conceptual tape, In Case We Die has been lauded and described as daring, sexy, brilliant, edgy and among other things seductive. While being billed as Tinashe's debut, the former lead singer of the now defunct all-girl dance-pop group The Stunners is no newcomer to the world of music.
This is evident on ICWD, which is a polished and well-crafted piece of work. The 15-track mixtape sounds more like an album than a debut mixtape. The tape features an easily recognizable R&B sound with a mix of pop and hip hop stylings. The 19-year old songstress' lush and commanding voice shows a level of maturity beyond her age.
The standout track "This Feeling" is the first song off ICWD to receive the visual treatment, courtesy of director Cole Walliser. Tinashe shows off more than some skin in this seductive video as she dances to her infectious percussion-driven R&B cut. Believe me I'm no dancer but I'm pretty sure I (attempted to) busted out a few quick moves while watching this vid. Check out the video and if you haven't already be sure to download Tinashe' debut mixtape In Case We Die.
