Christian Strobe specializes in putting everything that's good and cheerful in a musical blender and making it danceable. With hints of nu-disco, trance, indie, and shoegaze, it's hard to imagine anyone hating what Strobe puts out — so it's really no surprise that he was recently asked to remix Katy Perry after his remixes (we posted on his Reworks #1 EP) blew up on the blogosphere. It's nice to see Strobe finally coming out with a cohesive set of original tracks in his original EP Love WIthout Love, out on Globelle. Title track "Love Without Love" is an electronic track with an indie feel that you'll probably dig if you like R.A.C. The other two tracks, "Nighthawk" and "Helen," lean more in the trancey, shoegazed-out direction. With spring and summer on the horizon, there's nothing better than some uplifting musical escapism.
