The weekend has come and gone, and now you're deep into your weekly grind. Never fear, Wobble Wednesday is back with more of your favorite face-melting bass drops to help you make the most of your mundane lifestyle. Let me introduce myself, my name is Logan and I’ll be guiding you along through the many variations of bass music that we see these days, new and old. I wanted to turn the Wobble Wednesday feature into more than just a section for dubstep. Incorporating Drum & Bass and Moombahton is something that I feel is a perfect addition to the section, and something I hope you all will love as well. But do not worry your sweet little hearts, you aren't losing any of those crazy, dirty drops from the Filth section or the grimy bass lines that we’ve come to recognize from the Bass section. No sir, instead I’ll be including a new Chill section every week for all you chillstep lovers. Who can argue with more music?
BASS
Skrillex’s label, OWSLA, just released a new mixtape of 19 original new songs all for FREE! Why am I telling you this? Well for one, you should probably go download it, but before you do, check out a preview of one of the tracks below by dubstep legend Plastician. This song is classic dub with its simple drum beat and soothing wobbly bass line. A few days ago I came across a producer by the name of Monty with this track “Turn To Me,” it has a perfect combination of fading vocals and bass that make for a fun dance tune. If you haven’t heard of Rustie yet, you should probably get on it. I left you with his track "All Nite" that is a personal favorite of mine, but by all means check out his entire album Glass Swords to experience it all. He hits every type of genre within electro, I’d be content with just half the talent that this kid has.
FILTH
This week I’m dropping something new from Oblivion. I’ll have to admit, I have a soft spot for female vocals with a crushing bass line. If you’re with me, I’m sure this tune won’t disappoint. The next song I’d like to point out is by producer Tristam, aptly named "Tristam meets League of Legends." This has a classical feel to the song, up until the bass drops. Keeping with the melody he still crushes everything in sight.
DRUM & BASS
This week we’ve got another tune from Figure. His new label DOOM seems to be heading off in the right direction. Free music, remix stems, and a laundry list of talented heavy bass producers; most notably The Killabits and At Dawn We Rage. Described by Figure himself as the "Electro prequel to the drumstep monster 'Must Destroy'." This song goes HARD. Sub Focus’ track "Out The Blue" is probably one of the most soothing Drum & Bass songs I’ve heard in a while, you can’t ask for anything else from this amazing producer. I also wanted to point out the little two-minute preview of Camo & Krooked’s new single "Further Away," the new album should be coming out soon. We all can’t wait.
CHILLED
Rameses B is a fairly well-known chillstep producer. His newest track "I Need You" is another great reason why. The soft vocals blend well with the soothing bass and poppy synths that flow through the song. Everyone loves the prince of pop, Michael Jackson, and Hype Jones has a great new glitchy remix of the song "Maria."
MOOMBAHTON
A new section this week, I felt it was needed since everyone and they’re mothers are making Moombah tunes. Now, Dillon Francis is an common name around here and this week I’m giving you guys his new Clockwork remix. The song first starts off slow and calm, but once the drop hits everything goes out the window. I also threw in a new Downlink joint, who would have expected this notorious hard-hitting dubstep producer to be making Moombahton tunes? It's still classic Downlink though, if you get scared easily I'd suggest skipping this one, "Tiger" goes fucking hard.
If you've got a suggestion for me to throw up here next week, I'd love to hear it. I'm always down to listen to new stuff.
