Elkat and Moleskin – "Hurt" [Exclusive]

Leeds duo Elkat and Moleskin, not new to collaboration with one another, will be releasing their first single, "Hurt", on Hit and Hope on March 13. "Hurt" is a slowed-down, deep, bass-laden track that, in what has become something like tradition, brings in R&B vocal samples from Aaliyah. But don't think this is a cookie-cutter R&B sample track — Elkat and Moleskin have a unique sound that's really difficult to classify, and it's hard to imagine this track feeling out of place in just about any playlist, particularly anything bass or house music focused. It's not a dancefloor explosion, but the slow beat is still a standout, and the remixes from Optimum and Dongo & Blake give it two distinct breeds of increased energy if you're not a believer in the old "slow and steady wins the race" adage. Although this release is a single, each mix of the song is so unique that it feels like a set of three completely different songs.

Enjoy our exclusive stream of "Hurt" below! Purchase the single on limited 12" March 13th.
