There are thousands of popular artists out there today making new singles all the time. With the increase of bedroom producers, though, the ability to simply download a whole studio that you can use right on your lap has made original songs more scarce. Now it seems that you're finding tens of thousands of remixes by artists with more and more ludicrous names, leaving you wondering, "Transexual Viking Sword Bro- what?" This weekly segment will bring you the popular remixes and the never heard of "Transexual Viking Sword Brothers" remixes of a (common) artist's singles. From all these bedroom producers we are seeing one thing, and that is absolutely fantastic, manipulated, warped remixes.
Last week I threw together 8 remixes for a small "Artist Remixed" of Skrillex's new EP, Bangarang. I didn't expect its growing popularity so to properly give "Artist Remixed" its rightful justice I've made a new "Artist Remixed – Skrillex [Bangarang EP]". This time I've included my top 5 favourite remixes as well as my top 3 favourite mashups. After Skrillex's latest release there have been remixes leaking everywhere over the internet; last week's remixes were literally compiled in a matter of hours so I've taken the time this week to search through different remixes to bring you the best of the best. Enjoy. Make sure to check out my Facebook Page.
TOP 5 FAVOURITE REMIXES
5. Spol Remix
Spol's remix was one of the first remixes I heard when I started my search for Part 2 and I instantly was a fan. The beginning initially changes things up with a different melody, a quicker pace racing you to the drop. Spol takes "Devil's Den" and adds another layered beat of grimey bass all-the-while chopping and editing the vocals. The main melody is changed up which made me really like this remix and gave it the edge for number 5.. Make sure to check out Spol's Soundcloud page for more dubstep and free downloads. Enjoy.
4. Prometheus Remix
Prometheus's remix is another 'chill' side to the already ambient "Summit". Prometheus takes "Summit" and stretches the original, adding an extended beat after putting Ellie Goulding's vocals at the beginning of the song instead of the end. I figured I needed a relaxing remix of Summit rather than the ridiculous amount of plain filthy or dirty electro remixes that are so common. Prometheus changes are simple but brilliant. Prometheus only has 7 followers right now on Soundcloud and could use a little love so make sure you head over to his Soundcloud page to check out the only other song he has out right now, it won't disappoint. Enjoy.
3. TYR Remix
TYR gained a lot of popularity after his heavier dubstep remix to "Levels" by Avicii. I'm happy to bring another club favourite from TYR that's a remix of another hectic song, "Kyoto". TYR's remix is a lot faster than the original and a lot more choppy, practically DnB. I choose this remix for number 3 because it is one of the only truly hectic remixes that I've heard that really impressed me. The whole remix is all over the place with the deep vocals from "Kyoto" and edited vocals of Sirah. Make sure you head over to TYR's Soundcloud page for a ton of other free dubstep remixes to popular songs. Enjoy:
2. Y4nn Remix
I was torn for picking my overall favourite between number 2 and number 1. In the end I choose Y4nn's remix for 2nd place. Y4nn's remix starts off a lot slower than the original Bangarang with a smooth fade-in. It's one of my favourite remixes because it reminds me of a mix between Skrillex's "Love in Motion" and "Scatta". The initial drop has a very heavy bass thats very similar to the pause and play intro in "Scatta". Throughout the whole song we hear this heavy bass combined with similar electro fidget sounds that you hear in "Love in Motion." After halfway through the song picks up again after fading away to the vocals and Y4nn's slaughter starts all over. Make sure you head over to Y4nn's Soundcloud for a ton of free music. Enjoy.

1. Insan3Lik3 Remix
Insan3Lik3's remix won my overall favourite remix for several reasons: I initially only heard a 2 minute preview when I was searching for songs and knew it had to be featured. When I heard the full version I instantly knew it had to be number 1 on my list of top remixes. The original song is a wonderful piece of work but I love the electro spin that Insan3Lik3 has put on "Right In". Changing the intro, we're led right to a new intro with a smooth melodic build that uses the same vocals saying "right here" yet changes the drop into a electro house nightmare. With a deep synth and the vocals broken down and repeated this song is one for the party playlists. From start to finish, it builds you up then takes you back down all the while not making a bloody mess of the original (still keeping "Right In's" composure) yet adding electro mayhem. Great work Insan3Lik3! Make sure you check out Insan3Lik3's Facebook where he's fairly active and his soundcloud for a ton of other amazing work. Enjoy.
TOP 3 FAVOURITE MASHUPS
3. Synoptix Mashup
When I first heard this remix I was more than hesitant, the intro is smooth, taking you into the main milk with a soft chorus featuring "Rock n Roll's" vocals. After the drop, however, it sounds simply like a poorly edited version of "Rock n Roll" with a minimal amount of editing (sorry Synoptix, I'll build your name back up) but at the second drop, which is where "Devils Den" comes in, you'll find out why Synoptix's mashup get's number 3 on my list. Synoptix mixes both songs together with little ease as they sound as if their bashed together. The drops work perfect together combining both songs. Synoptix has a lot of electro and dubstep on his Soundcloud that's worth checking out. Enjoy.
2. Matt Sayers 'Creepy Girl' Mashup
This is a mashup of other 'remixes' (both of which can be found in this post) and of the original "Summit". The beginning puts Ellie's vocals right before using Michael White's dubstep at the drop. Then takes Krewella's vocals from her 'vocal edit' and uses it to build up to the second drop which, again, features Micheal White's filthy dubstep. This Mashup made it to number 2 on my favourite mashups because it takes some of the best remixes and puts them together to make a 'creepy girl' mix of the two. Hense the title. Matt Sayer does a ton of electro/dubstep mashups, which you can find and download on his Soundcloud. Enjoy.

1. Jeremy Stott Mashup
Jeremy Stott takes number 1 for my favourite mashup with his mix of Adventure Club's remix of "Collect Call" and "Summit". Adventure Club's remix is a perfect example of a classic dubstep song that takes a poppy female vocal song and combines it with a deep filthy bass. Jeremy Stott takes this poppy dub candy track and mashes it with Skrillex's melodic tune in summit matching the the two into an amazing mix. Great work Jeremy Stott! Make sure you check out Jeremy's Soundcloud page for more great electro/dubstep work. Enjoy.
